Mahanagar Gas Limited (MGL) is one of India's leading Natural Gas Distribution Companies. Established on 8th May, 1995, MGL is a joint venture between GAIL (India) Ltd and BGAPH (a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell Plc)
MGL has all the resources and competencies required from concept to commissioning of gas distribution networks available in-house. The entire business in MGL has been integrated through ERP-SAP system. MGL has got a track record of almost 100% reliability in its gas supply. During the devastating floods of Mumbai in July 2005, when most other utilities failed, MGL's gas supply continued uninterrupted.
Company supply CNG though its network of 180 CNG filling stations which includes stations owned and operated by the company, oil marketing companies and private parties. Company distribute natural gas through an extensive CGD network of pipelines, for which Mahanagar Gas have the exclusive authorization to lay, build, expand and operate the city gas distribution network. Company have a supply network of over 4,464 kms of pipelines.
